Artist Development Bursaries at Aberdeen Arts Centre

Following the start of our Artist Development Bursaries in 2023, we are really excited to be offering another three bursaries in 2024.

Each bursary will include:

  • £500 towards costs and fees

  • A week of in-kind space in our studio at the Children’s Theatre

  • Three meetings during the bursary with Amy, Director at Aberdeen Arts Centre

Supporting Ideas and Offering Valuable Time

For this round of bursaries, we are looking for ideas that will support your development as an individual creative. You might have an idea and need to do research. You might be at the stage of creating. You could need time and support applying for larger amounts of funding.

Applications for activity as part of a group might be considered but is not the key focus for this round of bursaries. If you would like to have a chat about this before applying, please email amy@aberdeenartscentre.com

Key Criteria & Information

  • Creatives can be practicing in any and multi art form and we encourage applications from creative practitioners at an early stage of their career. We also encourage applications from people who are currently under-represented in the arts sector in the UK.
  • Applications from people living in / with strong links to the North East of Scotland will be prioritised.
  • The week of in-kind support can be flexible around other commitments.
  • There will be a total of three bursaries awarded and can be applied for per project.

Your willingness to evaluate and feedback on how the bursary supported your development will be appreciated.
