Drama Sessions
Our Creative Learning Programme aims to nurture creativity, imagination and fun!
Our experienced practitioners work with the young people in their groups to explore stories, drama, movement and games building confidence, friendships and explorers.
The art of play is crucial to creativity and we embrace it across our workshops!
Please note that ages are guidelines and we can offer flexibility to ensure you and your children get the most out of our sessions. If you have any queries, or wish to sign up mid-term, please contact us.
Creative Play - Ages 3-4
Information
During a relaxed and fun hour of creative play, we go on a new adventure every week!
Inspired by stories, filled with games and fueled by imagination, our sessions allow the freedom to explore within a structure that supports exploration and builds confidence. We'll sing songs, play games, create different worlds through craft and drama to explore through our senses.
We keep this group small to allow little ones to flourish and thrive in in a safe and meaningful environment with our practitioner, Amy

Drama & Storytelling - Ages 5-7
Information
The brilliant Sheena Blackhall leads our weekly opportunity for 5-7 year olds to explore their imaginations, sing, move, tell stories and create worlds through drama and play.
Sheena has worked with Aberdeen Arts Centre for a long time inspiring the young people who join her to be artists, thinkers and explorers on their adventures together.
The sessions are fun and full of Sheena’s joyful singing, music and imagination.

Drama - Ages 8-11ish
Information
Our weekly Drama sessions for 8-11(ish)-year-olds encourage exploration, imagination, teamwork and creativity to create new worlds, practice new skills and grow in confidence through working together. They are also full of energy and lots of fun!
Our practitioner, Leah, works with the group to develop what they want to explore through games, improvisation, devising and movement. The group will share what they have created throughout the year and build towards being part of APA’s Light the Blue Festival in June 2025.

Drama - Ages 12-15ish
Information
Our 12-15ish group thrives on developing and building on their own interests with our brilliant practitioner, Leah, guiding them. They will work through games, challenges, improvising and devising to develop their skills to creatively solve problems, and devise and develop theatre through teamwork. Every week they have fun and every week they now a little more about their own voice.
The group will share what they have created throughout the year and build towards being part of APA’s Light the Blue Festival in June 2025.
